100 days - Day 02

Day 2

Adding more layers

At the end of day one We basically put on a few layers of a creamy off white on the manes and tails and any obvious white marking areas. We blocked in silver in the manes and tails that were going to have a bit of sooty factor in them, and I added a mud color to the bottom of Offerman's feet. Here are the results after adding onto those additions at the end of Day 2.

Apollo

More chocolate notes where added with some pan pastels and a touch more gold. I overlaid some lighter cooler white over the grey in his tail, and left his mane still blocked in with the grey from the day before, this is after setting spray, I plan on darkening some more areas with pastels and attacking his mane before I apply oils.

Daisey

She probably got the minimalist treatment just white layering through her tail and mane, you can see a smidge of the grey blocking on the underside of her tail. But not much was done to her this time around as her stockings are a warmer white then what I have mixed currently.

Jessie

She got some more white to her tail, along her very tiny and thin shaved mane and forelock. She’s getting for leg stockings so those are starting to be layered in. The white is very thin as to minimize brush strokes so this takes several layers. I will start to deepen her topline color soon. It will be a mixture of pastels and oils so I can blend into that lovely Pangaré coloration.

Magnolia

This sassy lady got some lovely coppery chocolate shading around her body deepening that newly minted coin appearance. More white was added to the mane, and her tail was blocked in with some silver. Which is considered a fault but with the sooty colors seems to be something that occurs more commonly so I added just a touch.

Offerman

Had a bit of an update this round, we worked over his tail and feet, and blocked in some streaks of hair with cooler white. He’s got a lot of hair, and at this scale it sometimes is hard to determine is that hair or is that supposed to be a part of the head or hoof. Either way he’s a super floof.

Thunderdrone

Lots more attention paid to the mane and tail this time, with a touch of gold pastel added to bump his shine. I think the next move is to do a clean-up layer in oils, and finalize his white markings and hooves. Still pondering if he will be turf or dirt.
